It was about time that we did an update, so the new Skirmish website is here! It currently resides at these 2 domains,
http://www.skirmishdevon.co.uk
http://www.skirmishexeter.com
We have also retired our devon airsoft page, which is http://www.airsoftexeter.com , which has been replaced by the new website, with a tab on the menu bar that says Airsoft Exeter which you can view here... http://www.skirmishexeter.com/airsoftexeter
Anyway, enough of all that! For the last 10+ years, we have stood by the Tippman 98 Classic, and the 98 Custom. An excellent all-round paintball marker that combines durability, as well as providing a reliable gun to our customers, that we know won't jam constantly.
We have finally found a gun that we are happy to replace our Custom 98's with, and that is the FT-12. The biggest selling point about the FT-12 for us, is how easy it is to repair and maintain.
Other differences from the 98 custom, are the 1.5 inch blade trigger, with a short pull for much faster firing, and a more responsive feel, as well as an extended 8.5 inch barrel for greater accuracy.
We currently have around 20-30 of these FT-12 markers, which are available as Upgrades, along side our 160+ 98 customs, and our remaing Tippman 98 classic markers.

Airsoft Rules and Regulations
Ok people, we have recieved a lot of questions about our airsoft rules and regulations (mainly about people bringing their own guns to the site, and what the acceptable FPS is), so here they are!
Hope this clears a few things up!
-Chris
Skirmish Airsoft Code
of Conduct
Any player who ignores the following rules will be removed
from a game, if persistent they will be removed from the site. These rules are
to try and ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable day and they apply to
everyone who plays - by attending Skirmish Airsoft you are agreeing to comply
to these rules.
In Brief
· Take your
hits! ( Rebounds and gun hits do not count )
· If you see
people not taking hits tell a Marshall, don't shout & swear at them!
· 'BANG' rule
- If within 10ft (3m) – do not discharge the weapon – shout 'Bang'.
· Avoid
Head-shots, while these do happen they can hurt so avoid where possible.
· Ground level
sport so no digging holes or climbing trees.
GUN LIMITS
· 350fps for
AEG's and pistols
· 450fps for
bolt-action rifles
Theses velocities are measured with 0.2g bb's and are the
MAXIMUM allowed on site
THE BANG RULE
If you are sneaky enough to get within 3m of the enemy DO
NOT spray them with bb's - SHOUT BANG, for this rule to work you must use your
common sense, shouting 'BANG' once will not kill 3 targets, likewise repeatedly
shouting bang at a group of people when your holding a bolt action rifle is an
abuse of the bang rule. This rule is in place to attempt to prevent injury and
the discomfort of being hit at close quarters - it's for your own good!
RE-SPAWNING - Do it
properly!
Depending on the scenario being played the re-spawn rules
may vary, generally we play one of the following which must be followed by all
players:
· Return to
the nearest re-spawn point before re-joining the game. Re-spawn points will be
marked on game maps and on the ground as well as being explained before the
game begins.
· Withdraw
from the battle in the direction of your base camp 100 paces and come back in.
HEAD SHOTS
Always attempt to aim for the body or legs of another player
- headshots are dangerous and should be avoided where possible, all players
know the risks involved and accept that if the only part of them on show to the
enemy is the head that they are presenting it as a target - aiming for
someone's head when you could (and should) be aiming for the body is NOT
encouraged and may be seen as wreak less/dangerous play and in violation of the
site rules.
SAFE ZONE
· ALL
Weapons must be made safe before entering the safe zone and must remain safe
until you leave it!
· Magazines
removed from weapons, chambers cleared and safety's on at all times. Even
dry-firing is not allowed, accidents can happen so be responsible!
CLOTHING & EYE
PROTECTION
· Eye
protection to be worn at all times unless in the designated safe zone. We
recommend the use of full face protection, if you choose not to you do so at
your own risk.
· The terrain
is uneven and there are many trip hazards in the woodland so suitable footwear
with good ankle support is recommended.
WHEN HIT:
· Shout 'HIT'
(nice and loud so they hear you or you will continue to be shot!).
· Raise one
hand in the air and hold your weapon with its barrel skywards so it is obvious
you are non-combatant.
GAME PLAY:
· DO NOT camp
out at re-spawn points - if you think this is happening inform a marshal.
· DO NOT shout
out at anyone you think is not taking your hits - INFORM A MARSHAL!
· While we do
not attempt to censor the language used anyone found being threatening or
abusive to another player will be removed from the site. If anyone physically
assaults another player or member of staff they will be banned from site
without warning.
· At times you
may be at close quarters, REMEMBER THE 3m BANG RULE!
· Safe-zones
for reloading are at the main safe-zone or at designated re-spawn points in the
game arena...
o if you sit down
to reload in the game area you can get hit, take the hits!
o if you stand
around chatting you can get hit, take the hits!
· If you are
moving to a re-spawn point have one hand raised to signify and keep to main
pathways as much as is possible. If moving through a battle please wait and
make yourself known with the call of ‘Dead Man Walking’ or ‘Dead Man Coming Out’
Thanks to Ian who wrote this all out for us,Hope this clears a few things up!

Summer 2012
The last few months have seen the introduction of PowderBalls, a new addition to the paintballing community, powder replaces paint in the same .68 callibre gelatine shells. While firing paintballs leaves the splat on your targets, Powderballs give a puff of powder on your target, letting you know your shots are hitting ...Plus it looks cool!
Last week saw the expansion of the Safety Area, creating a new area for the saftey breifing at the start of every day. Days where 200+ players are on the site, briefing has sometime been a slow process, but with new seating, and a bigger area to utilise, we hope to get you from the car park to the playing fields in half the time!
The village now has 5 buildings completed, with another 8 on the way. All together there will be 13 seperate structures, set in a circle around a large church, with an elevated tower to shoot from!
Our convoy arena has also seen a vast improvement, made slightly bigger, with new barricades, tyre towers, and natural trenches, it is proving to be our most popular arena at Skirmish Exeter.

Predator gets a job at Skirmish Exeter
Long time No Post!
Things are crazy here at Skirmish Exeter at the moment. Our site has undergone a massive upgrade in the last few years, if you haven't played recently, why not come again and check out the changes for yourself.
Our "Ravine" arena now has two missiles that need disarming in the middle of a firefight, and we have started playing our new village arena, which is close to completion, but has already seen some great action!
The whole site has seen an upgrade, getting to the arenas is now easier with widened and gravelled roads, there is more seating area in the safe zone, with a bigger carpark, and a new kitchen serving a new menu, including pizzas.
We are also proud to open our new shop which you can see in the picture above (with our new staff member the Predator!), selling guns and ammo, and other paintball equipment.
Hope to see you soon!

Paintball Arena Progress!
Work has started at Skirmish Exeter, we've had the diggers in to expand the car park, adding space for another 40-50 cars. With the expansion of activities at Skirmish, such as Airsoft and Archery, we have tackled the problem of the car park always being full.
The Laser games kids arena has now been cleared, and the grass is starting to grow. Once the grass has grown, the inflatables will be positioned, and kids from the age of 6 and up can begin to enjoy a safe, hazard free enviornment to play laser tag.
The Missile arena is now completed, and looks amazing. After a few test runs of the arena, we have positioned the barricades in the right place and created the perfect battle ground, which has already staged some fantastic firefights!
The missiles are positioned at the top of the arena, and the attacking team must clear the area of defenders, and press the switch on the electronic countdown timer, to stop the timer, and prevent the scud missiles from launching.
Skirmish Exeter is all about creating a unique and exciting experience for our paintballers, airsoft players, and laser taggers, and it has become apparant through our expanding group of returning customers, that we are succeeding in providing a quality service. However, we are currently making huge changes to better your customer experience at our site, and your opinions matter to us.
To give your input on what you want to see at Skirmish Exeter, please reply to this blog, or email us at enquiries@skirmishexeter.com.
Hope to see you soon!

This week at Skirmish Paintballing Exeter
The main update for you this week is the decision on the layout and design for the new Laser Games arena.
The arena will be situated where the target range currently is, and will be a grass pitch, with lots of differently shaped inflatables all over it, creating a permanant arena for children aged 6+.
The new inflatable arena will be a fun new game zone to play in, aswell as a safe alternative to the game zones out in the woods, and the natural hazards that come with them (logs, trenches, badger holes!), that parents may not want their young ones to be running around in.
I am personally excited to see the completion of this inflatable "Laser" arena, as i think it would make a great paintball Speedball arena!
As for other updates this week, the Village is still under construction, but is nearing its completion, and will definitely be ready for the new season. Ideas are being put together for the types of games that could be played on this new arena.
As always, more information on a day out at Skirmish Exeter can be found at http://www.skirmish-paintballexeter.co.uk

Changes!
This year will see some exciting changes to many aspects of the site at Skirmish Exeter.
Game zones are constantly adjusted to create new and exciting conflict areas on each arena, whether it involves just repositioning barricades, or introducing vehicles and structures into areas, Skirmish Exeter is forever changing.
Last year saw the completion of the bridge and fort arena (pictured above), this involved a brand new bridge structure, three times wider than the last one, and with new game objectives such as placing four blocks of C4 in strategic positions to blow up the bridge and win the game.
The end of this year, and the beginning of 2011 will have our new game arena "The Village" seeing its completion. This new arena is currently being built, and will feature a village, containing structures built around a central point which one team will need to defend, and the opposition will attack.
We are also expanding other features besides paintball, to accommodate for those people too young for paintball, and those that don't like getting shot! This involves Laser Games, Airsoft, .22 rifle ranges and Archery.
Laser games currently use the existing paintball arenas to play games, an addition to this will be a permanent inflatables arena, which has a variation of inflatable barricades in different shapes and sizes over a grass playing field, ideal for those aged 6+. This playing field will be charged at an all inclusive group hourly rate (price tbc), perfect for parents planning childrens birthday parties.
To find out more, request an information pack, or even book a game, call 01548 580025.
More information coming soon!
